“(Alys Beach) is welcoming painters with open arms and white walls,” wrote USA Today. “But with projectors and laptops rather than spray cans.”
As the world’s first projection art festival, Digital Graffiti was very much an unproven concept in 2008. Even so, over a thousand curious spectators arrived to gawk at the stunning animated projections that were submitted by hundreds of artists from around the globe. And websites, blogs and newspapers as far away as the U.K. promoted the curious new concept. This year, thousands more showed up to witness Digital Graffiti, including a crew from CNN who came to film the event for their “Edge of Discovery” series.
Now in its fourth year, the 2011 Digital Graffiti festival promises to draw even more national and international media attention.
